NEVER SATISFIED

I say Testing One Two Three, you say What About Four
I sing a bluesy tune, and you let out a snore
I listen for applause, but you don't think you should
You say you heard another band that sounded as good

I write a sonnet that can make people cry
Break a story that at last tells us why
You say I should take out a comma or two
You're never satisfied with anything I ever do


I score a touchdown without breaking a sweat
I kick the ball in the back of the net
Can run a mile in three minutes flat
Hit a homer without losing my hat

I serve up high, and hit ace after ace
Slam a dunk that goes right in your face
You say that's nice, but can you play cricket too
You're never satisfied with anything I ever do


So I work hard, and become a success
Take more and more, and give back less and less
One day I wonder, How have I done
I always win but I still haven't won

I'm ashamed that I'm only V.P.
And in the mirror I don't like what I see
I guess I've learned quite a lesson from you
I'm never satisfied with anything I ever do
